Multi-Factor Authentication

ZeroOutages MFA service ensures that customers are able to meet the latest compliance requirements for PCI, HIPPA, FINRA and others. The basic idea of MFA or two factor authentication is that when a user logins in to a VPN, or server, or other resource, that they be challenged via a second method of authentication to confirm the end-users identify.

Application Identification

ZeroOutages achieves its multi-factor authentication via a combination of smart phone app, desk phone, or email-based challenges. Each end-user can determine which method they wish to utilize; however the default is typically via the smart phone application.

Secure Login Process

With ZeroOutages end-users will attempt a login using their normal process, username, password, etc. Once they enter this information, they will be further prompted with a secondary identification challenge. This secondary challenge ensures that even with an exposed password, a hacker is still unable to gain access to the network.

Access Control Integration

ZeroOutages provides access control via our portal for customers, however various SAML Identify Providers are supported, including: Active Directory (Azure AD), Google, Okta, OneLogin, Ping, and any other SAML 2.0 compatible provider.

Challenge Response Options

Multi-Factor Authentication can be completed using a variety of methods, including: Smart Phone Application (iPhone, Android), desk phone or land line (where you simply press a button to confirm access), and finally a passcode via email or secure token.

Servers Supported

There is no limitation to the number of servers to which MFA can be applied, all licensing is per client.

Supported servers include Microsoft Windows (OS8 through OS2022), and Linux (RedHat, Fedora, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux), BSD (FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD), Solaris, and AIX.

Linux deployments rely on PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module) which can provide protection for SSH logins and other applications.

Networking devices can also be protected which support login integration with RADIUS.
