Cloud Reliability

If you are using cloud-based applications then you need some form of network redundancy and reliability.

All cloud-based applications utilize server resources which are located across the Internet at centralized data centers. These server resouces are "cloud-based" i.e. in order to access them you must traverse the cloud, i.e. you must have access to the Internet and use an Internet application, typically a web-browser, to access these resources.

In most cases these resources are services provided either by an outside company or developed by internal staff within your organization, but either way the services are hosted at the remote data center location.

In either case it is critical for Internet access to remain active in order for these services to be available. If your Internet link goes down, so do your cloud-based applications.

This is where Internet reliability and cloud reliability come in to play. One must remain access to the Internet in order to remain access to cloud-based services.
